Some Benefits of Practising Astral Projection

Many people ask me why I astral project, well there are many benefits to be experienced, even if you haven’t made it out yet and are still trying various techniques.

The first is a benefit that we gain from learning any new skill, it is good for our brain to continue learning, learning for the brain is what physical activity is for the body. So even if you haven’t experienced astral projection but are trying different techniques, and reading up on the subject, you are still benefiting.

The astral projection process requires working on the mind, in order to have successful conscious experiences the mind should stay objective and in control. Generally we have a lot of chatter in our heads, the astral is thought and feeling sensitive so what you have in your head can appear before you as thought forms, it is for this reason we must be more conscious of what we are thinking. Being more aware is a good thing also in our lives in the physical, so working on this aspect of the mind can improve our lives. We find we are more present in life and can actually remember where we put the phone or car keys because we are more consciously aware of what we are doing.

Practising astral projection improves intuition, it is as if we become more tuned in to the world around us, more tuned in to surrounding energies and messages from our higher self and guides. We start to view people, the world and the universe differently as we have more intense and in depth experiences, for example, we may view a ‘past’ life, (I use the word past as we understand things using linear time, in the astral time is a lot more flexible, if it exists at all) this in itself leads to all sorts of implications for the world today, we study history as if the people in the stories have nothing to do with us but the reality is they were us, other incarnations. Looking back at our history is more disturbing than it may at first appear, as we repeat the same mistakes over and over again literally, a quote from the film Cloud Atlas illustrates this:

“We сrоѕѕ and rесrоѕѕ our old trасkѕ lіkе figure ѕkаtеrѕ”  Timothy Cavandish

Cloud Atlas presents the lives of 6 characters who are all incarnations of each other, I recommend this film, a true masterpiece.

Viewing a past life makes you realise that there are no boundaries between us, we have been male and female, we have been different races and a part of different cultures yet when we are focused in one life we feel separate as if we have nothing in common with other ways of life.

Being able to meet up with departed loved ones is a great benefit of astral travel, death is a very difficult part of our culture it is not spoken about a lot, we are not taught how to deal with it very well. Grief can destroy lives. Being able to meet up with the departed can help deal with the physical loss of the person, it can give you comfort knowing that your loved ones are just an OBE away. I met up with my dad after he died, he had always been afraid of dying, when I met him we stood in my garden talking, I joked saying, ‘You see, dying wasn’t that bad was it?’ He agreed and said that his sister had been there to meet him, so while we were saying goodbye in the physical, my auntie was there to say hello on the other side, we were sad to see him go but my auntie was happy to see him; it makes for an interesting image.

What I consider to be a major benefit of being able to astral project is that you can find out the answers for yourself, you don’t have to rely on a third party to explain the ‘hows and whys’ of life and who you are etc. You have your own guides in the astral who help you in your quest, they don’t hold you by the hand, they let you find out for yourself, but they are always present in the background in case they need to step in. They may set up learning scenarios for you if you need to understand something in more depth, you may even find yourself in a type of classroom situation, I have often found myself with guides learning how to manipulate energy, all very fascinating.

Through these experiences we can evolve through working on our issues, astral projection is a tool for personal growth that we all have at our disposition. I believe we can also balance karmic debts by helping people in the astral who have some sort of problem and have difficulty moving on. Whatever the benefits in practising astral projection one thing is sure, it will change the way you view who you truly are.

Happy Travels!

Alison Wylie

My name is Alison Wylie. I am English but I live in Italy, I often use the name Ali Wings, 'ali' in Italian means 'wings' so rather appropriate considering how I love to fly at night in my dreams and out-of-body experiences.
Around the year 2000 I had my first out-of-body experience, it was the first of thousands, and the beginning of an incredible journey into self. Taking the inner path is not always easy and I had a lot of intense experiences confronting many parts of myself which I never imagined existed.
Through my out-of-body experiences I have experienced how we are so much more than we could ever conceive with our human brains. I have understood on a very deep level how everything and everyone is connected and now I wish to help people connect to who they truly are.
I have met people on the other side who have died full of regrets for not having lived fully while on Earth, for not having given all of themselves but instead getting lost in the drama and 'busyness' of physical life. I wish to help people balance their lives and really start to live, to live life consciously. I am a podcaster and run three podcasts, the Astral Projection Podcast, the Connecting the Bits Podcast plus an Italian podcast named Mente Corpo Spirito such is my desire to reach the world with my message.
I am an Author, Teacher, Astral Projection Coach, Reiki Practioner Level 2 and Spiritual Advisor helping people to become their own hero and live life consciously.
