Get Out-of-Body with Affirmations

In my last article I talked about the Robert Monroe affirmation as a way of protection from any undesired beings and to ensure guidance from a higher source. We can also use affirmations when learning how to astral project as part of our practice.

I have used affirmations in the past with great success, two in particular:

  1. ‘Now I’m out-of-body’
  2. I always remember my out-of-body experiences/astral projections.

Affirmations are always said in the present tense as if they are already true, using an affirmation with ‘will’ implies that it will happen in the future and that is no good for us as we live in the present.

The affirmations need to be repeated as often as possible during the day, you can carry a little card with them on, as seeing them written down will help fix them in your mind. If we repeat things often enough during the day they will also start to appear in our dreams, or we will start to say it automatically when dreaming. This is a great way of programming yourself to wake up in the mind awake/body asleep state or even wake up already in the astral as has happened to me many times.

The affirmation can be linked in your sub-conscious to something you often see in dreams, then your mind will associate the symbol or object with the words. I find this particularly effective with the ‘Now I’m out-of-body’ phrase, for example in my mind I link this affirmation with windows, windows often turn up in dreams, in houses, in cars etc, when you think about it they are everywhere. If I go through a window in a dream more often that not I wake up in the dream and find myself in the astral almost simultaneously.

The second affirmation is essential too as we want to remember our experiences. Inevitably there will be experiences that you don’t recall very well, it can be very difficult to remember the long OBEs as there may be a lot of detail. Our minds tend to remember best what we were doing just before waking up, so if that was a dream, it is this that will take preference. It is important to keep a journal by our bed and write up experiences as soon as we have them, or at least write down a few key words that will jog our mind in the morning.

The way you say these affirmations is also important, if possible say them out loud as the spoken word is more powerful than most people realise. Of course, saying ‘Now I’m out-of-body’ while you’re standing in the queue at the bank might not be appropriate but if you can find private moments during the day to say the words all the better. The words should be spoken, or repeated in the mind, with feeling, positive happy feelings, as this will add a stronger vibration, if you find a moment during the day you can also write down the words over and over this will also help imprint the affirmations firmly in your subconscious. Be bold when you say them believe them to be true.

With these affirmations, basically you are convincing your subconscious that they are already true, that they are facts, this is another reason why they must be in the present tense. You must be consistent, doing your affirmations one day and skipping the next is not going to get you results, as with anything you have to be committed and regular in your practice.

As I mentioned earlier this method has worked for me many times, just the other morning after going back to sleep repeating ‘Now I’m out-of-body’ I was in a dream, saw a window, flew through it and immediately found myself conscious in the astral. It all happened very quickly with no difficult techniques and no vibrations, this method is I believe one of best as it takes the less time, the affirmations are easy to fit into the day and given that I am always very busy it is an excellent technique for me.

To sum up:

‘Now I’m out-of-body’

‘I always remember my out-of-body experiences/astral projections.’
